Enjoying meals that are prepared using traditional foods and drinks that make you feel like it is Christmas. Many times, I’ve attended a prepared feast with various other dishes and it didn’t feel like the holidays.
We have finger foods and open one present on Christmas Eve. It is a tradition we have had for many generations. Even when things aren’t right in the world , I take comfort knowing this is going to happen and it is fun.

Going around to our local homes for the aged with my co-workers singing christmas carols. It was so sweet to see some of their eyes light up with memories of old when a certain carol was being sung. Witness many laughs- and an equal amount of tears, but overall, they LOVE and always look forward to having us come “through” every year. (some literally congregate at the entrance, waiting to hear the jingling bells of our group…) I don’t know whats better; the experience from their perspective, or from ours. This is simply magical, and I look forward to it every year!
