I must admit I rarely if ever drink tea, my husband on the other hand loves it so this box is customized for him. I think I will update my preferences in a future box just to see the flavours I’ll get. I chose all Chai teas this time because that’s what he prefers. Teabox impressed me from the start the preference survey was short and easy to complete, the shipping was so fast I received my package in about 3 days which is impressive as the teas come from India. The packaging is also neat and classy. Great start.
I love the Teabox packaging. When you first open the box you have a nice welcome card and instructions on how to make the perfect cup of tea. Even how you heat up the water makes a difference. I had no idea!
The first box in the Teabox subscription comes with a stainless steel 1tsp. Teascoop. It’s a nice extra to receive and helps you to make sure you get that perfect cup. As a tea novice I appreciate all the help I can get. We also receive 5 muslin teabags in the box. They are reusable and biodegradable, another nice touch.
I received the Teabox Tea Starter Box and it came with 3 packages of tea 10g each. The bags are resealable and have detailed instructions on how to brew the tea. It also includes information on which scent and taste profiles are in that tea as well as the add-ons you can put in.
The first pack of tea was the Kashmiri Kahwa Chai. It’s a green tea Chai with almonds and a variety of spices. I had no idea that Chai came in green tea variety so I thought that was very neat. The add-ons for this tea were just sugar or honey. No milk in this one. I personally liked this tea the best it was nice and light with no bitter aftertaste.
The second package of tea was the Bombay Cutting Chai. This one was black tea which is the kind of Chai I’m familiar with. The flavours included Ginger, fennel and cardamom. We added both milk and sugar to this and it was delicious. The Ginger flavour really stood out aND added a nice warmless to the tea that i really enjoyed. Both Ginger and Fennel are traditionally used to aid in digestion so this tea would be helpful with that as well.
Our last package of tea from Teabox was the Assam Masala Chai. This was a black yea with a mixture of spices added. We added milk and sugar to this as well. I liked this tea the least, but this was my husband’s favourite of the three.
Overall Thoughts and Impressions:
I’m really very impressed with this subscription from the survey to the taste of the teas. Everything was very well put together and we’ll executed. Teabox also has a guarantee in place if you dont like any of your chosen teas they will replace it free of charge in your next box. What do you think of Teabox? I’m looking forward to the next box.
