Birchbox Box

Birchbox Canada – February 2015 – Review

My third Birchbox Canada has arrived.  I have enjoyed my Birchbox Boxes so far and look forward to seeing the cute boxes they package them in each month.

BirchboxCA has posted a spoiler for their March Box on Instagram. If you subscribe before March 17th you’ll get a beauty blender in your March Box. I did a quick search online and the cheapest i found the Beauty Blender sponge for was $21(CDN) on Amazon. So it pretty much covers the cost of the box alone, it’s a pretty good deal.

Box: BirchBox Canada
Cost: $14.95 / month or $159.40/year (Prices include shipping)
What you get:
4-5 Beauty sample size items

February’s Birchbox shipped out on Feb 10th 2015 and was in my hands on Feb. 16th.

This months box was bright orange with cute purple speechboxes on it. So Cute! I received a promo card in my box for Rent the Runway for a $30 off a $75 purchase to find out that Rent the Runway doesn’t ship to Canada ! Not Impressed with that. Please don’t send me promos that I can’t use. Besides that I liked the rest of February’s box.

Harvey Prince Hello Shampoo & Conditioner

Hello Harvey Prince Shampoo and Conditioner

Hello Harvey Prince Shampoo and Conditioner

An organic blend of natural oils moisturizes the scalp to promote hair growth and add shine. Restorative proteins repair dry, damaged hair and botanical extracts remove impurities to leave hair clean and revitalized.
I love the Hello Scent from Harvey Prince. It’s Citrusy and a little floral. I received the body lotion in a previous box and I really love it.

Derma e® Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub

Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Glycolic Scrub

Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Glycolic Scrub

Glycolic acid, a form of alpha hydroxy acid naturally found in sugar cane, sloughs off dead skin cells which helps prevent clogged pores and lessens the appearance of hyperpigmentation. Apricot seed powder and papaya work together to deep clean pores, revealing a more radiant complexion.
I haven’t tried this scrub yet. It has really excellent reviews online so i’m looking forward to trying it out. You only need a dime size amount once or twice a week so this sample should last a while.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain – in Heartthrob

Cynthia Rowland Lip Stain

Cynthia Rowland Lip Stain

This creamy lip stain is vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free. I think everyone got the Heartthrob colour in their box. It’s a tiny tiny sample and the colour is just to bright for me. I don’t think bright bright reds suit me. The formula itself is nice and long lasting and it’s not sticky.

theBalm® cosmetics Cindy-Lou Manizer®

The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer

The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer

How cute is this packaging! I’ve seen other the Balm Cosmetics products online and they always do a great job with their packaging. I haven’t had the opportunity to try this yet the Birchbox.ca site describes this product as a multitasking highlighter, eye shadow, and blush to be the sister product to theBalm® Mary-Lou Manizer. Whereas the latter is more of a honey hue, this shimmering shade is a peachy pink.

Another thing to mention about Birchbox is their points program. 100 points equals $10 to spend in their online shop. You have the opportunity to review the items you receive in your monthly box and you receive 10 points for each product reviewed. So you’ll get $5 back to spend each month which is pretty nice. Save up your points to get something you really like.

Do you subscribe to Birchbox? What do you think of your boxes so far? I’m pretty happy with mine and I think they’ll continue to get more brands and choices for Canadians as time goes on. They do promise that you’ll never receive the same sample twice so you can always expect something new in your box.
