The Second Birchbox Canada is here! I really enjoyed the first box and I have been looking forward to see what January’s Birchbox would bring.
Box: BirchBox Canada
Cost: $10/month plus $4.95 shipping or $100/year plus shipping which works out to $159.40/year
What you get: 4-5 Beauty sample size items
My January Birchbox Shipped out on January 10th 2015 and was in my hands on January 16th.
Let’s review what was in my January Box!
Beauty Protector Protect & Treat Hair Mask – Full Size $30
There were two samples of this in the box. It’s an argan oil treatment that is supposed to restore strength and shine to your hair. After you shampoo you put a quarter size amount of this on, focusing on the middle and ends of hair and leave it on from 5 – 20 minutes. I think I can get at least 4 – 5 uses out of these two samples I’m happy to try this. Although I don’t think I’ve taken a shower that’s 20 minutes long since having my son 18 months ago, so the 5 minutes minimum will have to do.
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre Full Size $16-$28
The packaging on this has this cream as a Moisturizing cream, milky make-up remover, repairing mask, after-shave cream, and baby-care product. Wow that’s alot of uses. The sample size of this is so so tiny though it won’t last very long. It’s paraben free so that’s nice.
Joie – Folle de Joie eau de parfum – Full Size $116
This scent is a mix of mandarin, rose and sandalwood, it’s nice not overpowering. I’m not a big perfume wearer so this sample will last me quite a while.
ModelCo – Party Proof Matte Lipstick in Dusk till Dawn Set of 3 – $20
This lipstick smells fruity which was a surprise for me, at first I didn’t like the smell but it’s grown on me. The shade of this nude lipstick suits me. I did have to hide it though, my sweet son thinks all lipsticks and liner pencils are his crayons.
Tocca – Crema de Mano – Cleopatra in Grapefruit Cucumber – Full Size $10-$20
The size of this sample is good. I like the scent it’s fresh and not too feminine so my husband can use it as well. It’s in my bag to use while we’re out and about.
Overall I really liked my January 2015 Birchbox. I will definitely use all of these samples and I think the value of the box more than covers the cost. From what I’ve seen it seems that most Birchbox Canada customers receive very very similar boxes it would be nice to see some more variety in future boxes. I’m looking forward to my February Box. 🙂 If you are interested in Birchbox Click HERE to sign up.
